Bangkok Cannabis Guide 2026
Laws, Dispensaries & Where to Buy

The complete guide to cannabis in Bangkok — from Thai weed laws and where to buy, to strain recommendations and what to expect visiting a dispensary for the first time.

Thai Cannabis Laws Explained

Cannabis was decriminalised in Thailand in June 2022 under the Narcotics Act amendment, removing it from the list of Category 5 narcotics. This made Thailand the first country in Asia to take this step and opened the door to a legal cannabis industry.

As of 2026, cannabis flower is treated as a controlled herb within Thailand's medical framework. You must be 20 years of age or older, and supply is subject to the current prescription and medical-assessment rules. Kratom has a separate legal framework.

Stash BKK operates under its current DTAM-issued retail licences. Product labels, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and supporting records are available in the shops where required. A retail licence does not remove the need for a genuine medical assessment or authorise cannabis consumption on the premises.

Key Rules to Know

Age: 20+ only. ID may be requested.

Where you can smoke: Public smoking that causes a nuisance is prohibited. Do not assume a shop, lounge, hotel, balcony, or other private property permits consumption; check the property rules and current law first.

Quantity: Any prescription is limited to what the authorised practitioner considers medically necessary, for no more than a 30-day supply.

Exporting: Do not attempt to take cannabis out of Thailand. It remains illegal to export and is treated as drug trafficking in most countries.

Cannabis Strains & Prices in Bangkok 2026

Bangkok dispensaries generally carry three categories of cannabis flower:

Budget (฿60–฿150/g) — Accessible Thai-grown flower. Good for casual use. Stash BKK starts at ฿60/gram.

Mid-range (฿150–฿300/g) — Higher quality flower with clearer strain identity. Most popular category.

Premium (฿300+/g) — Higher-priced flower. Check the exact label, declared origin, and available supporting records rather than relying on category names.

Prices at Stash BKK start from ฿60/gram with 40+ strains across all price points.

Cannabis & Kratom — Different Products, Different Thai Rules

Kratom (กระท่อม, Mitragyna speciosa) was removed from Thailand's narcotics list in 2021. That does not make every kratom product or sale unrestricted: the Kratom Plant Act B.E. 2565 and product-specific laws can govern protected groups, sale locations, advertising, product format, labelling, import, and health claims.

Current kratom stock is sold by weight at Stash BKK. Ask staff to show the exact label and applicable in-store records. Kratom is not cannabis and the two are regulated separately under Thai law.

Bangkok Cannabis FAQ

Yes. Cannabis is legal in Thailand under regulated conditions. You must purchase from a licensed dispensary, be 20 or older, and consume in private or designated areas. Public smoking is not permitted.

Stash BKK has four licensed dispensaries across Bangkok: On Nut (open 24hrs), Ari (open 24hrs), Chinatown/Yaowarat (2PM–2AM with rooftop bar), and Ekkamai (24hrs). All near BTS or MRT stops.

Prices and inventory change. Stash BKK currently advertises flower starting from ฿60/gram; check the exact in-store label, origin, and available supporting records before purchase.

Tourists are subject to the same medical, age, identification, and prescription requirements as other customers. An authorised practitioner decides whether a PT33 is clinically appropriate after assessment. Do not assume private property permits consumption; follow the premises rules and avoid public nuisance.

Kratom was removed from Thailand's narcotics list, but the Kratom Plant Act B.E. 2565 and product-specific laws still regulate sale, protected groups, locations, advertising, product formats, and labelling. Check the exact product label and current rules.
