Can You Get Kratom Delivered in Bangkok? 2026 Ordering Rules

Kratom delivery in Bangkok is not covered by the same blanket answer as cannabis-flower delivery. Thailand's Kratom Plant Act expressly refers to electronic sales, so ordering by website or another electronic channel is not automatically prohibited. But that reference does not make every seller, listing, product or parcel lawful.

The answer depends on the exact product, who is receiving it, what information the seller provides, how it is marketed and whether another product-specific law applies. What the Kratom Plant Act actually says about electronic sales

Section 24 of the official Kratom Plant Act B.E. 2565 in the Royal Gazette prohibits selling kratom leaves, or food containing kratom leaves, to people under 18, pregnant women and breastfeeding women, as well as any further protected groups designated by ministerial notification.

The same section requires sellers to display or communicate those prohibitions at the place of sale. It then says that this duty also applies to other methods of sale, giving electronic sale as the example, according to criteria and procedures prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health. The Office of the Council of State's unofficial English translation is useful for comprehension, but its own disclaimer confirms that the Thai Royal Gazette text is the legal authority.

That wording matters. It means "all kratom delivery is illegal" is too broad. It also means "the Act mentions electronic sales, therefore this parcel is legal" is too broad. Section 24 addresses only part of the transaction. The rest depends on the product and the other rules that apply to it.

The product category can change the legal answer

"Kratom" is not one uniform retail category. A seller may use the word for fresh leaves, ground leaf, a plain leaf decoction, a supplement, a food, an extract or a product promoted with health claims. Those forms do not necessarily sit under the same regulatory route.

Section 3 of the Act says that when kratom is used as an ingredient in a herbal product, medicine, food, cosmetic or another specially regulated product, its import, export, sale and advertising must follow the law for that product. In other words, the Kratom Plant Act does not replace Thailand's food, herbal-product, drug or cosmetics rules.

Thai FDA's official kratom-food guidance illustrates the distinction. Foods containing kratom plant material or extracts are generally prohibited unless they satisfy the applicable safety-assessment and label-review conditions. The agency provides an authorisation route for certain kratom-containing supplements and explains how to search its product database. Thai FDA's December 2024 official FAQ likewise says that qualifying foods require the relevant safety evaluation and approved label before sale.

So a marketplace badge, social-media account or delivery-app listing is not proof that the item itself has completed the route that applies to it. A lawful sales channel cannot cure an unlawfully classified, unapproved or misleadingly labelled product.

What to verify before placing an electronic order

This is a compliance checklist, not a recommendation to buy from a particular service:

1. Identify the exact product. Is it leaf, ground leaf, a plain decoction, food, a supplement, an extract or a herbal product? Do not rely on the word "kratom" alone.
2. Read the complete label. Look for the responsible producer or importer, ingredients, lot or batch, expiry information and the registration or authorisation details appropriate to the claimed product category.
3. Check the claimed authorisation. If the seller says a food or supplement is Thai FDA-authorised, verify the product rather than accepting a logo or screenshot. Thai FDA publishes information on authorised kratom-containing supplements.
4. Look for the protected-person notice. Section 24 requires the seller to communicate the sales prohibitions, including in electronic-sale settings. An online flow that hides basic restrictions is a reason to stop.
5. Do not accept unsupported health claims. Claims to treat, cure or prevent disease can affect how a product is classified and regulated. Marketing language is not medical evidence or regulatory approval.
6. Avoid mixed preparations of unknown composition. The Act restricts kratom prepared or mixed with narcotics, psychotropic substances, medicines, hazardous substances or other designated materials, subject only to narrow medical and research exceptions.
7. Keep it inside Thailand. Section 10 requires authorisation for kratom-leaf import or export. A domestic delivery listing is not permission to put kratom in international post or carry it across a border.

A legitimate seller should be able to answer those questions without asking you to trust a disappearing chat, a rider's word or a photograph of unrelated paperwork.

Age rules: Thai law and Stash policy are not the same number

The statutory sales restriction in Section 24 covers people under 18, pregnant women and breastfeeding women. That is the Act's protected-person threshold; it should not be rewritten as 20.
